Dear Sir/Madam,

I was sold a pre-paid brokerage plan by Edelweiss promising a brokerage of 0.25%
per trade. But since last year they changed the policy without providing an
option to opt-out and have overcharged me three times extra. The new policy is
very expensive for me.

Meanwhile, I was sold another pre-paid brokerage plan of a higher amount (I did
not know about the change of their brokerage plans at the time of buying), which
is yet to begin. I requested them to cancel it and refund, and there has been no
reply to my emails. When I call the customer care I was told that this is
non-refundable.

What can I next do to get their attention and return my money back? Kindly
advice. I am a bit concerned since my lifetime's savings has been invested
through edelweiss.

Instead of mails and phone calls, please lodge your complaint in writing to the customer care / Investor Grievances Officer of Edelweiss at Edelweiss House, Off CST Road, Kalina, Mumbai 400 098 by registered a/d and demand the money within 10 days from the receipt of your letter. Please clearly mention in your letter that the broking firm did not inform you anything about the higher brokerage rates. Please insist in the letter that charging fees for unavailed services is unfair trade practice.

If they are not responding, please lodge complaint with SEBI, NSE and BSE suitably. This can be done online also.

The last recourse is District Consumer Court where you can file the case and need not take help of any advocate / lawyer.
