Join us to Felicitate Ramesh Kurhade For His Courageous Fight Against Mandatory Aadhaar Linking
Hear His Story And Its Lessons For Us

img 1While the government is trying hard to crush every voice against Aadhaar, one person from Mumbai not only fought, but also won against the government's mandatory linking policy. Hear Mr Ramesh Kurhade of Mumbai Port Trust as he shares the story of his unwavering fight against Aadhaar.
A number of concerned citizens and NGOs have come together to felicitate Mr Kurhade in the hope that his experience will give courage to others. The felicitation and his talk will be followed by brief interventions by:
1. Dr Anupam Saraph, trustee Moneylife Foundation and also a Professor, former governance and IT advisor to Goa's late CM Manohar Parrikar.
2. Vickram Crishna an activist whose struggle against UID began long before the government's stringent stand on Aadhaar.
3. Raghu (aka godavar) a member of the Rethink Aadhaar campaign which has been working to broaden the conversation around Aadhaar.
4. Vidyut Gore an author, blogger and a socio-political commentator who refers to herself as a facilitator of dissent.
5. Elisha Ebenezer, a software engineer with 15 years industry experience. He is the petitioner in a case challenging the linking of the EPFO's Universal Account Number with Aadhaar.
6. Yogesh Sapkale Director-Projects at Moneylife Foundation who also takes a keen interest in technology related matters.
Ramesh Kurhade is the charge-man of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department (MEED) at the Mumbai Port Trust. Being a member of the Mumbai Port Trust Docks and General Employees Union, he was one of the 30 people who refused to submit his Aadhaar number in response to the Port Trusts's request in 2015. He is also an active committe member and treasurer of HMS Youth, Maharashtra and is inspired by Late Shri Shanti Patel, freedom fighter and former Rajya Sabha Member.
