I had used in past an ABN AMRO credit card (which was later taken over by RBS). I stopped using this card after 2012.
Now last week I got a call from Kotak Mahindra Bank that I have to pay up around Rs. 6000/- which were outstanding on the ABN AMRO credit card since year 2007. Luckily I managed to find a statement of the RBS credit card for the year 2012 where it shows outstanding amount 0.
Now, due to this issue, they have downgraded my CIBIL score. What more, I also got a call from some lawyer saying that he is going to raise an FIR if I don't pay up the amount.
I don't know what to do in this matter... I have asked them to provide me the details of the credit card (e.g. statement etc) which shows the outstanding amount. But they never revert back to me on mail.
While browsing the internet, I found that there are many people which are harassed by the Kotak Mahindra Bank for the credit card of ABN AMRO
Please help me if there is any way out of this....
