Why the US is not a viable concern any more

America is de-industrialising because wages in the US are up to 40 times higher than those in developing countries like China. Therefore, the United States makes very little that the rest of the world cannot buy somewhere else much more cheaply.

    Typical doom and gloom writing.Show me a nation more advanced in technology and than we can believe in his writing.
    How come almost all the Japanese and Germans along with Koreans have car plants in USA. This was the same perception for GM,Ford etc. GM and Chrysler did not fail due to high wages but due to lack of enough medical and retirements funds..
    The writer did not take in account the productivity factor
    It is nothing new when an economy is down there are many to kick .I presume we can find such articles way back after 2nd WW when things were murky for Europe and UK.
