  • Nifty, Sensex to move sideways – Wednesday closing report
    We had mentioned in Tuesday’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex were under pressure. On Wednesday, the major indices ended with minor losses. On the NSE, there were 557 advances, 1,276 declines and 354 unchanged.
     
    The trends of the major indices in the course of Wednesday’s trading are given in the table below:
     
     
    Reliance Industries announced that private equity giant Silver Lake Partners will invest Rs 7,500 crore in its retail unit Reliance Retail in exchange for a 1.75% stake.
     
    Indian Hume Pipe received an order of Rs 134.82 crore from Rural Water Supply & Sanitation, Odisha. 
     
    AstraZeneca Pharma’s late-stage studies of a highly-anticipated COVID-19 vaccine candidate, being developed along with the University of Oxford, have been put on temporary hold due to a suspected serious adverse reaction in a participant in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, Pune-based Serum Institute of India said the trials of the same vaccine have not been paused in India.
     
    CG Power and Industrial Solutions reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 243 crore for June quarter 2020. In the previous year, the company's loss was Rs 72 crore. Revenues declined to Rs363 crore, compared to Rs1,774 crore.
     
    SML Isuzu reported widening of loss in the June quarter to Rs 52.26 crore against a profit of Rs 16.66 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
     
    Revenues declined to Rs29 crore from Rs471 crore in the previous year.
     
    Texmaco Rail will raise up to Rs 200 crore via preferential issue. The company reported loss at Rs 27.6 crore against profit at Rs 8.93 crore while its revenue fell to Rs 218.4 crore against Rs 392 crore YoY.
     
    Dishman Carbogen reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 21.4 crore for the quarter ended June 2020. It had posted profit of Rs 34.31 crore in the year-ago quarter. Total revenues declined 9% YoY at Rs 474 crore.
     
    Steel Strips Wheels received export orders of nearly 110,000 wheels for US caravan trailer market, to be executed in the month of Nov from its Chennai plant.

    Nifty, Sensex under pressure – Tuesday closing report
    We had mentioned in Monday’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex were moving sideways. On Tuesday, the major indices ended with minor losses.
     
    On the NSE, there were 560 advances, 1,251 declines and 379 unchanged.

    Wipro and Marelli have entered into a multi-year global agreement for automotive engineering services. As part of this agreement, Wipro will leverage its EngineeringNXT framework and strong automotive engineering expertise to establish a software engineering factory for Marelli.
     
    Info Edge reported a 149% YoY jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 93.66 crore during the quarter ended June 2020. Consolidated revenue in stood at Rs 285 crore, down 10.85% YoY.
     
    Ashoka Buildcon emerged as the lowest bidder (L-1) for two NHAI projects. The aggregate quoted value of the projects is Rs 1,390 crore. 
     
    Surya Roshni won orders aggregating to Rs 287.45 crore from Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Gas Resources.
     
    The government is reportedly planning to sell 15-20% stake in IRCTC via offer for sale (OFS). The Department of Disinvestment has invited bids for the appointment of merchant bankers and selling brokers.
     
    CESC’s consolidated net profit fell 13.4% YoY to Rs 200 crore. Revenue fell 25% YoY to Rs 2,420 crore versus Rs 3,227 crore in the year-ago.
     
    SML Isuzu posted a net loss of Rs 52.3 crore in the quarter ended June 2020 against a profit of Rs 16.7 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue fell 94% YoY to Rs 28.7 crore.
     
    Future Enterprises reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 394.77 crore in Q4 FY20 as against a net profit of Rs 66.58 crore in the year-ago. Revenue fell 50.01% YoY to Rs 783.28 crore.
     
    The government will sell up to 1,83,28,125 equity shares of Bharat Dynamics via offer for sale on September 8-9, with an option to additionally sell 91,64,063 equity shares (which total representing 15 percent of the total paid-up equity capital). The floor price of the offer will be Rs 330 per share.
