The state government is lost and has no methods to stop the spread of the virus.. there is no point in imposing section144.. how is it going to help? There is no control over migrants returning back in search of jobs . The population is way too high, slums taking over 76 percent of Mumbai .. how can one devise methods ? The only news is about Bollywood and the drama to divert innocent people’s minds ... life is as normal as it used to be...

This is ridiculous. The city is badly damaged by contaminations and rampant spread of Corona virus. If Sec 144 is implemented and yet the institutions under MBA has to continue as usual, what is the sense or purpose this is going to serve ? Anyway, upon doing antigen tests, there are plenty of new cases popping up. Nothing is going to change with or without this order. Including Central Govt offices, nobody is bothered about the spread. It has reached a point that if you are dying, so be it. One number less in the population. The BMC and Maha Govt has fun filled agenda going after Kangana and saving the Thackerays from sensational stories.

It should have been already imposed if you take the date and time... but at the same time they say unlock 4 norms remain , so they are ok with people cramming into buses and vehicles , visiting shops , malls and markets , but dont want gathering of 1 or more people

SC fines Adarsh Scam accused Raj Kumar Modi for filing repetitive bail applications
The Supreme Court has imposed a Rs 25,000 fine on Raj Kumar Modi, an the accused in the Adarsh scam case, for repeatedly filing bail applications, terming it as an abuse of the process of law.

A bench comprising Justices L. Nageswara Rao, Hemant Gupta and S. Ravindra Bhat, said: "Repetitive filing of applications amounts to abuse of process of law. This application is filed in spite of the order passed by this Court categorically stating that no further application for extension of interim bail shall be entertained."

The fine was imposed after the bench heard another petition filed by Raj Kumar Modi seeking interim bail.

The apex court noted that he was granted bail for a period of two months on June 15 on the ground that his mother was seriously ill.

Later, he filed an application for further extending the interim bail for six months on the ground that his mother passed away and he had to perform certain rituals.

He also informed the court that his wife was suffering from serious ailments.

On August 10, the top court extended the interim bail for a month and directed the petitioner to surrender on or before September 15.

"It was made clear that no application for extension of interim bail shall be entertained. We gave liberty to the petitioner to file an application for bail if the Special Leave Petitions are not finally heard, within a period of six months," noted the bench.

Later, another bail application was filed on the ground that Raj Kumar Modi was suffering from epididymitis.

While submitting the plea, senior advocate K.V. Viswanathan, appearing for the petitioner, said that unless properly treated, epididymitis can lead to complications.

He also pointed out that the number of Covid-19 patients in jails were increasing.

The bench said repetitive filing of applications amounts to abuse of process of law.

Additional Solicitor General Aman Lekhi, representing the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), argued that the top court should treat this matter seriously as the applicant is repeatedly filing for interim bail.

'No economic assistance as govt doesn't have migration death data'
The central government has no provision for compensation or economic assistance to the families of migrant workers who died on the journey back to their hometowns during the over 60-day lockdown across the country amid the Covid-19 crisis, the Union Labour Ministry informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply on Monday.

The response came during the opening session of the Monsoon Session which started on Monday with 18 sittings till October 1.

In his written reply to Unstarred Question 174 on 'Migrant Workers returning to Hometown', Union Labour Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said "No such data is maintained" when asked whether the government is aware that a number of migrant workers lost lives during their return to their hometowns and if so, the details of the same, state-wise.

Responding to the next question on whether the government has provided any compensation/economic assistance to the victims' family and if so, the details thereof, the minister said "question does not arise". On another question on whether the migrant workers returned to their homes by walking due to no arrangements by the Union government in time, Gangwar said "the Indian Railways has operated more than 4,611 Shramik Special trains for convenience of the workers".

The minister said more than 63.07 lakh migrant workers have been shifted to various destinations located in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and other states. Food and water was also provided free of cost to the workers during their journey, he said. Gangwar responded to the question raised by Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) MP Kani K. Navas, Congress MPs Adoor Prakash and Balubhau alias Suresh Narayan Dhanorkar.

The government's response on the first day of the Monsoon Session gave a chance to the opposition to criticise the government with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slamming the Centre, tweeting "the Modi government does not know how many migrant labourers died and how many jobs were lost during the lockdown. If you haven't counted, have the deaths not taken place? It is sad that there has been no impact on the government".

In his tweet in Hindi, Rahul further said: "The world has seen their deaths. There is a Modi government which has no information." Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said it was a "shocking" reply and said "sometimes I feel we are blind or the government feels it can take everyone for granted".

Lakhs of migrant workers took to the roads to go back to their villages from various cities across the country, walking hundreds of kilometres after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24 evening announced a countrywide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus. The migrant workers started walking back to their homes as they lost their jobs in cities due to the lockdown and were left with no option due to lack of money and food.

Not a surprise. As expected. Goal of the current dispensation is to build a Brahmin Rashtra disguising in the name of Hindu Rashtra. Not a single Brahmin would have died in the migrants exodus. For them Non-Brahmins anyway can be dispensed with. So not an issue whether they live or die.

Dear Mr SA Bobde the Chief Justice of India, Please Call Mr Narendra Modi the Prime Minister, Govt of India to Supreme Court of India and Ask him as to Why the Govt of India does Not have the Data on Death of Indians and, if he Really does Not have the Data on Unfortunate Death of Helpless Citizens, then he Must Resign as the Prime Minister since being Incompetent and Inefficient. I am Babubhai Vaghela from Ahmedabad. Thanks.
