SC Tells NIC To Remove PM’s Pic, Slogan From Its E-Mails
The Leaflet 25 September 2021
The Supreme Court of India had the advertisement banner of the Union government carrying an image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed from the footer of its official emails.
The Supreme Court registry was informed that the official emails of the apex court had an image as their footer which had no connection whatsoever with the functioning of the judiciary.
The apex court’s registry took up the matter with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which provides email services to the apex court, and directed it to drop that image from the footer of the emails originating from the Supreme Court.
The NIC was told to use a photo of the Supreme Court instead.
