RCom partners with Nokia for multi-faceted business alliance

Telecom operator Reliance Communications (RCom) said it has joined hands with Nokia India Ltd for a multi-faceted business alliance. No financials were provided.

The alliance will make Nokia's Ovi Life Tools services available to rural and semi-urban segments for RCom customers. It will also add Ovi Music Unlimited (OMU) device. OMU helps customers to download millions of tracks for free, direct to their mobile phone or to their computer from the Ovi Music Store for 12 months.

As part of this alliance, RCom is also offering mobile data bundle of 1.2GB on Nokia GPRS enabled handsets. In addition, RCom is offering upto 1,800 free on-net minutes bundled with Nokia 1800. These free voice minutes and mobile data bundles has a validity of six months.

On Friday, RCom shares declined 0.5% to Rs162 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex closed 0.3% down at 18,401 points.
