Opto Circuits FDA nod for patient monitoring system

Opto Circuits (India) Ltd, a healthcare equipment manufacturer, said its subsidiary received a clearance from the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for its new modular patient monitoring system - eVision 9100.

The certification enables its unit Criticare Systems Inc to sell eVision 9100 in most parts of the world, particularly in the US, which is one of the largest markets for patient monitors. According to Global Markets Direct, the revenue for multi-parameter patient monitors is estimated to be around $2,249 million, it said in a regulatory filing.

On Monday, Opto Circuits shares ended 1% up at Rs282 on Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex gained 1.9% to 18,560 points.
