NSE Warns Investors Against 2 Telegram Channels Offering Trading Tips, Account Handling Services
Moneylife Digital Team 28 August 2026
The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has cautioned investors against a Telegram channel named ‘OM TRADERS’ and a Telegram handle called ‘HELP DESK’, which are allegedly offering securities market tips and account-handling services to investors.

According to an NSE release, the entities are asking investors to share their trading login IDs and passwords and are also offering portfolio management services.

The Exchange said the Telegram channel ‘OM TRADERS’ having link   t.me/Om_Trade_Earn  and the ‘HELP DESK’ having links t.me/helpdesk057/text=CAN_WE_START_ACCOUNT_HANDLING and t.me/helpdesk057/?text=join_premium handle are not registered either as members of NSE or as authorised persons of any registered member.

NSE has cautioned investors against subscribing to any scheme or product offered by individuals or entities promising indicative, assured or guaranteed returns from the stock market, stating that such offers are prohibited by law. Investors have also been specifically advised not to share their trading credentials, including user IDs and passwords, with anyone.

The warning comes amid growing risks for investors from unregistered entities operating through social media and messaging platforms. By offering trading tips, account-handling services or portfolio management outside the regulated framework, such entities can expose investors to financial losses as well as misuse of their trading accounts.

NSE has advised investors to independently verify the credentials of anyone offering investment or trading-related services. The exchange provides a ‘know/locate your stock broker’ facility on its website through which investors can check whether an entity is a registered trading member or an authorised person. Details of designated bank accounts used by trading members to receive or make payments to investors are also available through the facility.

The Exchange further made it clear that participation in such prohibited schemes is at the investor's own risk, cost and consequences. Such schemes are neither approved nor endorsed by NSE.

Importantly, investors dealing with such unregistered schemes may not have access to the protections and grievance mechanisms available within the regulated exchange framework. NSE said that in the event of disputes relating to such prohibited schemes, investors will not be able to access investor protection benefits under the exchange's jurisdiction, the exchange's dispute resolution mechanism, or the investor grievance redressal mechanism administered by the Exchange.
