Nifty, Sensex Wilt Under Geopolitical Tensions - Thursday Closing Report

On Thursday, 1120 stocks advanced, 2864 declined and 92 remained unchanged, with an advance decline ratio 0.39 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), indicating negative closing of stocks in broader markets. The trend of the major indices on Thursday’s trading is given in the table below.
 
 
On NSE, 102 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 65 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectoral indices, all indices ended in red, Nifty Auto, Nifty Infrastructure and Nifty Energy were among the biggest losers. 
 
Adani Green Energy’s (-4.09%) wholly-owned stepdown subsidiary -- Adani Renewable Energy Three entered into power consumption agreement (PCA) for supply of green power to a commercial and industrial (C&I) customer. The said green power shall be supplied from a new 61.4 MW renewable energy plant, located at Khavda, Gujarat.
 
ITD Cementation India (+20%)secured a contract for constructing a multistoried commercial building worth approximately Rs1,937 crore including taxes and duties in Uttar Pradesh.
 
Jubilant Ingrevia’s (+5.57%) wholly owned subsidiary -- Jubilant Agro Sciences (JASL) entered into an agreement with a leading agrochemical company (customer) to produce an agro intermediate for one of the key agro actives of the customer.
 
Emcure Pharmaceuticals (-1.87%) signed a royalty-free voluntary licensing agreement with Gilead Sciences Ireland UC, part of California, US based Gilead Sciences to manufacture and supply generic versions of lenacapavir. This agreement is part of a broader effort to increase global access to lenacapavir for HIV prevention and treatment, with a focus on high-incidence, resource-limited countries.
 
Zydus Lifesciences (-1.05%) received tentative approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture Enzalutamide Tablets, 40 mg and 80 mg (USRLD: Xtandi Tablets, 40 mg, 80 mg). Enzalutamide tablets are androgen receptor inhibitors indicated for the treatment of patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer and metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer. 
 
Transformers & Rectifiers (India) (+3.58%) secured orders of Rs565 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India for Transformers and Reactors with range of 80 MVAr to 500 MVA and 420kV to 765 kV Class. The said order is to be executed byFY25-26. 
 
One97 Communications (Paytm) (-0.52%) deployed 800 Paytm EDC devices (card machines) across 42 krishi mandis in Madhya Pradesh. this significant initiative empowers the traders and farmers at the mandis by facilitating smoother and more secure transactions, thus enhancing the financial inclusivity and operational efficiency within the local agricultural community. a krishi mandi is a marketplace, part of a state’s agricultural marketing board, for facilitating trade of agricultural produce from farmers.
