Nifty, Sensex Under Pressure – Tuesday Closing Report

On Tuesday, the indices opened gap up and ended with loss. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 1,789 stocks advanced, 1,665 declined, and 134 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 1.07.
 
The trend of the major indices on Tuesday’s trading are given in the table below:
 
 
On NSE, 90 stocks advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 12 stocks sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectorial indices Nifty FMCG and Nifty Private Banks were the biggest losers whereas Nifty Metal and Nifty Oil& Gas were the biggest gainers. The broader market indices outperformed their larger peers with BSE Midcap and BSE Small cap gaining 0.47% and 0.1% respectively.
 
Canara Bank will hike lending rates by 5 to 15 bps from 8 September.
 
Indian Oil has issued debentures worth Rs 2,500 crore on private placement basis. Apollo Tyre surged 6% after brokerage upgrade.
 
Ambuja Cement ended 5% higher after 0.22% equity changed hands. KNR Construction ended in green after 0.4% equity changed hands. NDTV ended in 5% lower circuit after 0.5% equity worth Rs 18.6 crore changed hands.
 
RITES has received order worth Rs 92.7 crore from GMRC (Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation).
 
Suzlon has received order of 180.6 MW from Sembcorp. The stock ended almost 2% higher.
 
Blue Star ended in red after winning an order worth Rs 390 crore from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation.
 
Rategain Travel Technologies ended in green after Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways selected it to get AI powered pricing insights.
 
Kalpatru Power Transmission ended almost 7% higher after winning order worth Rs 1,345 crore. The stock went up on the back of heavy volumes and trades above all key moving averages for seven days in a row.
 
Tilaknagar Industries ended in red after launching new French style brandy.
 
DreamFolks Services listed with 56% premium to its issue price of Rs 326 per share at Rs 508.7 on NSE. Tamilnad Mercantile Bank IPO was fully subscribed on 2nd day.
 
Tata Investment Corporation gained almost 7% on the back of heavy volumes.
