Nifty, Sensex struggling to head higher – Monday closing report

We had mentioned in previous week’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex may drift higher. On Monday, the indices opened higher but suffered a minor correction. On the NSE, there were 1,064 advances, 898 declines and 347 unchanged.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories announced the commercial launch of 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) for treatment of Covid-19.
 
Emami has increased its existing strategic stake in Helios Lifestyle of 33.09% to 45.96%.
 
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone plans to expand its cargo operations and increase its market share to 40% by 2025.
 
API Holdings Ltd (API), the parent company of PharmEasy, will acquire 66.1% stake in Thyrocare from Dr A Velumani and affiliates at a price of Rs 1,300 per share aggregating to Rs 4,546 crore.
 
Hindustan Aeronautics reported 31% growth in net profit for quarter ended 31 March 2021 at Rs 1,622 crore vs Rs 1,235 crore in the previous year. Total income rose 4% YoY to Rs 10,870 crore.
 
Barbeque-Nation approved fund raising of nearly Rs 100 crore through the issuance of 11,77,855 equity shares pursuant to a preferential allotment.
 
Power Mech has bagged order worth Rs 9,294.14 crore by Central Coal Fields for the development and operationalisation of Kotre Basantpur Pachmo Project, Jharkhand for extraction of coking coal.
 
RITES was awarded two project worth Rs 749.67 crore by Railway Board, Ministry of Railways for railway electrification work on turnkey basis.
 
Indraprastha Gas net profit came in at Rs 331 crore. Revenue came in at Rs 1,710.32 crore. The board has recommended dividend of 3.6 per share.
 
Escorts division Escorts Agri Machinery will be increasing the prices of its tractors effective July 1, 2021.
 
ISGEC Heavy Engineering net profit rose to Rs 63.4 crore for the quarter ended 31 March 2021 from Rs 13.2 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Revenue went up 4% to Rs 1,617.7 crore versus Rs 1,555 crore YoY.
