Nifty, Sensex Rise on Further Oil Price Fall: Wednesday Market Report

On Wednesday, 2593 stocks advanced, 1652 declined and 193 remained unchanged on Bombay Stock Exchange with advance decline ratio of indicating 1.56 a positive closing. The trend of the major indices on Wednesday’s trading is given in the table below.
 
 
On NSE, 63 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 55 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. Nifty IT, Nifty Metal and Nifty FMCG  were among the biggest gainers.
 
Tata Chemicals (+0.70%) Magadi received directions from Kenyan authorities to suspend mining operations and soda ash exports pending a compliance review; the company maintains full compliance and is engaging with regulators, but financial impact remains uncertain.
 
SML Mahindra (+20.00%) approved the acquisition of Mahindra & Mahindra’s Truck and Bus Division for ₹525 crore, aiming to create a unified commercial vehicle business with enhanced scale and operational efficiencies; the transaction is expected to complete by early August 2026.
 
Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) (-0.15%) secured its largest-ever gas turbine generator order from Nigeria’s Dangote Petroleum Refinery, supplying and supervising erection of eight turbine packages manufactured at its Hyderabad and Bengaluru plants, marking a significant global project win.
 
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) won a major EPC order worth between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore from Kuwait Oil Company for new crude oil storage tanks and export infrastructure upgrades, supporting enhanced crude handling and export capabilities. Dilip Buildcon (-1.46%) emerged as the lowest bidder for a ₹2,524.32 crore water infrastructure project in Chhattisgarh, involving pipeline construction and operation under the Pairy Project Scheme, with completion scheduled within 30 months.

PCBL Chemical (+14.86%) posted a 65% Y-o-y net profit increase to ₹155 crore; revenue grew 17% to ₹2,473.4 crore; EBITDA rose 24% to ₹396 crore, with margin expanding to 16%.
 
Apcotex Industries (+15.31%) net profit surged 312% Y-o-y to ₹78.94 crore; revenue rose 39.9% to ₹525.63 crore; EBITDA margin doubled to 22.3%.
 
Sharda Cropchem (-5.96%) net profit declined 38.4% Y-o-y to ₹88.02 crore despite 9% revenue growth to ₹1,073.77 crore; EBITDA margin contracted to 17.32%.
 
Asian Paints (+0.81%) net profit increased 39.9% Y-o-y to ₹1,539 crore; revenue rose 17.9% to ₹10,542 crore; EBITDA margin expanded to 20.6%.
 
Jammu & Kashmir Bank (-12.78%) net profit fell 12.5% Y-o-y to ₹424.18 crore; total income rose 6.9% to ₹3,760.02 crore; asset quality improved with gross NPA at 2.37%.
 
Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (+0.59%) net profit rose 43.8% Y-o-y to ₹172.8 crore; revenue increased 38.5% to ₹1,814.6 crore; EBITDA margin slightly declined to 8.2%.
 
V-Guard Industries (+3.32%) net profit grew 76.4% Y-o-y to ₹130.25 crore; revenue rose 23.5% to ₹1,810.65 crore; EBITDA margin improved to 10.6%.
 
Vinati Organics (+0.62%) net profit declined 12% Y-o-y to ₹109 crore; revenue increased 15% to ₹696 crore; EBITDA margin contracted to 24.5%.
 
SKM Egg Products Export (+1.11%) net profit rose 47.2% Y-o-y to ₹24.03 crore; revenue grew 3.2% to ₹179.20 crore; EBITDA margin expanded to 17.52%.
 
Meghmani Organics (+1.02%) net profit surged 280% Y-o-y to ₹48.19 crore despite 11.5% revenue decline to ₹542.83 crore; EBITDA margin expanded to 18%.
 
KPIT Technologies (+6.03%) net profit fell 32.3% Y-o-y to ₹116.41 crore; revenue rose 8.9% to ₹1,674.99 crore; EBIT margin contracted sharply to 11.3%.
 
Adani Ports & SEZ (-3.10%) net profit rose 9.2% Y-o-y to ₹3,620 crore; revenue increased 18.6% to ₹10,821 crore; EBITDA margin slightly improved to 60.4%.
 
Devyani International (+4.08%) net profit surged over 4x Y-o-y to ₹14.6 crore; revenue grew 17% to ₹1,581 crore; EBITDA margin expanded to 16%.
 
Colgate-Palmolive India (+1.32%) net profit increased 7% Y-o-y to ₹343 crore; revenue rose 12% to ₹1,603 crore; EBITDA margin declined to 30.1%.
 
Thangamayil Jewellery (-10.00%) net profit rose 86.1% Y-o-y to ₹85.09 crore; revenue increased 71.2% to ₹2,666.38 crore; EBITDA margin slipped slightly to 5.4%.
 
CarTrade Tech (-3.61%) net profit grew 19.3% y-o-y  to ₹51.2 crore; total income increased 16% to ₹230 crore; EBITDA margin expanded to 31%.
 
DCM Shriram (+0.12%) net profit surged 513% Y-o-y to ₹693 crore; revenue rose 9.3% to ₹3,565 crore; EBITDA margin steady at 9.4%.
 
Maharashtra Scooters (+0.32%) net profit declined 90.6% Y-o-y to ₹3.32 crore due to timing of dividend income; underlying business stable.
