Nifty, Sensex may come under pressure – Tuesday closing report
We had mentioned in Monday’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex were still on an uptrend. On Tuesday, the major indices moved in a range and ended flat. On the NSE, there were 802 advances, 1,074 declines and 102 unchanged.
 
The trends of the major indices in the course of Tuesday’s trading are given in the table below:
 
 
Wipro reported a consolidated profit of Rs 2,465.7 crore for the July-September quarter against Rs 2,390.4 crore in the previous quarter. Consolidated revenue increased 1.2% sequentially to Rs 15,096.7 crore. The board approved a buyback proposal for purchase of up to 23.75 crore equity shares (representing 4.16 percent of total paid up equity).
 
Alembic Pharma’s associate company, Rhizen Pharmaceuticals, entered into an exclusive licence agreement with Curon Biopharmaceutical for development and commercialization of Tenalisib, a Dual Pl3K Delta and Gamma Inhibitor for Oncology, in Greater China.
 
Steel Strips Wheels bagged orders of over USD 3,68,000 from the US and the EU, to be executed in the month of December and January from its Dappar & Chennai plants. 
 
Shalby posted a standalone net profit at Rs 24.16 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, as against a loss of Rs 8.7 crore a year ago. Its standalone revenues stood at Rs 109 crore as against Rs 126 crore in the same period last year.
 
Rane Brake may consider proposal for buyback of equity shares.
 
Vedanta said that the company will return delisting funds to banks, bondholders, after its delisting offer is deemed to have failed.

    I saw BSE charged 25Rs as Vedanta delisting fees. Is this normal. Any old timers care to comment.

    Nifty, Sensex still on an uptrend – Monday closing report
    We had mentioned in previous week’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex continue to head higher. On Monday, the major indices opened higher but declined and ended with minor gains. On the NSE, there were 650 advances, 1,247 declines and 86 unchanged.
     
    The trends of the major indices in the course of Monday’s trading are given in the table below:
     
     
    GTPL Hathway reported a net profit of Rs 34.68 crore in the September quarter, up 37.46% year-on-year. Sales declined 13.95% to Rs 403.18 crore as against Rs 468.56 crore YoY. 
     
    Vedanta Resources and its indirect subsidiaries Vedanta Holdings Mauritius and Vedanta Holdings Mauritius II said that the delisting offer of Vedanta is deemed to have failed. The total number of offer shares validly tendered by the public shareholders in the delisting offer was 1,25,47,16,610, which was less than the minimum number required to be accepted by the acquirers for the delisting offer to be successful.
     
    Indiabulls Housing Finance raised Rs 441 crore by selling a portion of its stake in OakNorth Holding Ltd, the parent company of OakNorth Bank, to US-based Riva Capital Partners.
    Shilpa Medicare received a warning letter for its Jadcherla facility, Telangana from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). 
     
    Premier Explosives received an order from Singareni Collieries Company, a government firm, for the supply of SMS/SME explosives and accessories.
     
    Federal-Mogul Goetze’s promoter entity IEH FMGI Holdings LLC proposed to sell up to 1,21,45,391 equity shares (representing 21.83 percent of the paid-up equity) on October 12-13. The floor price has been fixed at Rs 342 per share.
     
    Great Eastern Shipping Company signed a contract to buy a second-hand LR2 Product Carrier of about 105,258 dwt. The 2012 South Korean-built vessel is expected to join the company's fleet in Q3 FY21.
     
    GNA Axles reported net profit of Rs 22.93 crore in the quarter ended September 2020, up 2.92% YoY. Sales declined 13.23% to Rs 222.11 crore against Rs 255.98 crore in the year-ago period.
