Nifty, Sensex ended on a positive note - Tuesday Closing Report

On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 2443 stocks advanced, 1066 declined and 126 remained unchanged with advance decline ratio of 0.67, indicating a negative closing of stocks in broader markets.
 
The trend of the major indices on Tuesday’s trading is given in the table below:
 
 
On NSE, 27 securities advanced and closed at new 52 week high whereas 87 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows.  
 
In sectoral indices, Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma were among the biggest losers. Nifty Energy, Nifty PSU bank, Nifty Media, Nifty Auto and Nifty Metal were among the biggest losers. 
 
Indian rupee closed at 81.92/$ against previous close of 81.50/$.
 
Adani Enterprises (+2.80%) FPO was fully subscribed on final day with help of QIBs (Qualified Institutional Bidders) (1.0x) and NIIs (Non Institutional Bidders – High Net worth Individual) (3.3x). 
 
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (+2.62%) 2027 note dropped 6.2 cents on the dollar in Hong Kong after hitting fresh lows earlier.
 
Lupin (+0.43%) received tentative US FDA nod for Dolutegravir, Emtricitabine & Tenofovir Alafenamide (DETAF) tablets which are used to treat HIV-1.
 
Vedanta (+3.26%) has scrapped its plans to sell copper smelter unit in Tamil Nadu.
 
Amara Raja (-0.60%) reported that fire broke out in one of its manufacturing unit located in Nunegundlapalli village, Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, January 30, 2023
 
Godrej Properties (+1.53%) has purchased 89 acres of land in Khalapur, Maharashtra. The land offers a development potential of approximately 1.9 million square feet
 
KEC international (-0.84%) has received orders worth Rs1,131 crore across various verticals, including transmission and distribution, civil and cables.
 
SRF (+1.47%) board approved project for production of a range of specialty fluoropolymers at a cost of Rs 595 crore which will be financed through a mix of debt and internal accruals. 
 
Kansai Nerolac Paints (+3.60%) will sell its land in Thane admeasuring 96,180 square meters to Shoden Developers, a group company of House of Hiranandani for total Rs 655 crore.
 
Inox Leisure (+0.08%) reported that its merger with PVR (+0.51%) will be completed in 30-40 days.
 
UltraTech Cement (+2.87%) arm will acquire 70% stake in Duqm Cement Project International.
 
VRL Logistics (+2.50%) approved the proposal to buy back up to 8,75,000 fully paid up equity shares at a price of ₹ 700/-  per share.
 
In large trades, Tata Motors (+1.90%) 0.13% equity changed hands at Rs 452 per share.
