HDFC Bank fell on 27 August 2026 mainly because of renewed legal and leadership concerns and a securities lawsuit filed in the US against HDFC Bank’s managing director & chief executive officer (MD & CEO), Sashidhar Jagdishan, and chief finance officer (CFO), Srinivasan Vaidyanathan. It alleges that the Bank made payments of about ₹45 crore (US$4.7mn-- million) to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), allegedly disguising them as marketing expenses to compensate the agency for higher interest on deposits. HDFC Bank has called the lawsuit without merit and said it will defend itself.
 
Indoco Remedies executed a deed on 27 August 2026, selling a 2,876.08sqmtr (square metre) land plot in Mahal Industrial Estate (Mumbai) to Kalpataru Townships Pvt Ltd for ₹64 crore; the sale was non-related party and will not impact operations.
 
Tata Power Renewable Energy commissioned a 72.5MW (megawatt) captive solar project for Tata Steel in Bikaner (Rajasthan), expected to generate 166mn units annually and offset 118,856 tonnes of CO2.
 
Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) invested ₹2,670 crore to expand shipbuilding facilities at Raichak, Shalimar and Khidderpore Docks. The Raichak site received over ₹2,500 crore for a dry dock and related infrastructure. Timber Pond at Shalimar and Damodar facility upgrades cost ₹100 crore and ₹70 crore, respectively, supporting warship, commercial vessel and ferry construction.
 
Yantra India Limited announced a ₹750-crore expansion at its metal and steel factory, Ishapore, to enhance metallurgical and defence manufacturing through new forging facilities.
 
TVS Supply Chain Solutions signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Sankyu Inc, with Sankyu set to acquire a 0.5% stake. US$22mn. The investment was routed through Natco's subsidiaries in Canada and South Africa via convertible promissory notes bearing an 8% interest rate. Building on an initial US$8mn investment made in 2024, this fresh funding directly supported eGenesis's development of gene-edited porcine organs aimed at resolving the global human organ shortage crisis.
