Market This Week
Moneylife Digital Team 10 July 2026
Moneylife’s market breadth indicators have maintained their position in bullish territory this week. Military tensions in the Middle East remain elevated after reported attacks on commercial tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz and subsequent US retaliatory strikes on Iran. While US president Donald Trump's remarks that the memorandum with Iran was no longer valid initially triggered a sharp risk-off reaction, markets have, since, stabilised, to some extent. Brent crude continues to trade around US$77/barrel, retaining a geopolitical risk premium amid concerns over potential supply disruptions, even as the Strait of Hormuz remains open. Investors are closely monitoring any further escalation that could threaten oil exports from the region, with the trajectory of crude prices expected to remain the key driver of global market sentiment.
