Mahua Moitra Files Lokpal Complaint against SEBI Chief
Moneylife Digital Team 12 September 2024
Mahua Moitra, a member of Parliament (MP) from Trinamool Congress, has filed a Lokpal complaint against Madhabi Puri Buch, chairperson of the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI), for improper conduct and entering into quid pro quo arrangements, which, according to the MP, 'threaten India's national interests."

In her complaint, Ms Moitra says, "The Indian stock market now has roughly 10 crore citizens who are direct or indirect investors. Moreover, foreign investors have also expressed deep concern with the credibility and integrity of India's stock market and its regulator. Hence, this is a serious matter of national interest and thereby ought to be immediately investigated for violation under the Prevention of Corruption Act."

In her complaint, the Trinamool Congress MP also mentioned allegations made by Hindenburg Research, a short-seller from the US, about Ms Buch and her husband Dhaval Buch, holding a stake in two companies, one in Singapore and the other from India and Rs3.63 crore income earned by Agora Advisory Pvt Ltd.

Here is the complaint filed by Ms Moitra...

Thank goodness that some brave person is forcing the spineless, compromised BJP government to answer questions in parliament, at last.
What is the matter with the MPs of the the two partners of BJP that they too are helping BJP cover up the shoddy at best and perhaps criminal activities of SEBI, by keeping mum on this scandal.

Action has to be taken or at least a committee has to investigate allegation against SEBI chief but not from a highly corrupt and compromised person like Mohua, who shared her official access to fancy handbags ????????

Are you illiterate? How can a MP investigate. She has merely given a complaint to the Lokayut. The reason why country is in such mess is because of illiterate like you.
