JSW Steel July crude steel production up 4%

Steelmaker JSW Steel Ltd reported a growth of 4% in crude steel production for July 2010 compared a year ago period.

The company's crude steel production increased to 5.2 lakh tons in July from 5.01 lakh tons in same month last year.

During July, its rolled products (flat) production rose 35% to 4.08 lakh tons from 3.03 lakh tons while rolled products (long) production rose 43% to 90,000 tons from 63,000 tons in July 2009, it said in a regulatory filing.

On Thursday, JSW Steel shares gained 0.8% to Rs1,121 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex closed 0.2% down at 18,172 points.
