  • Nifty, Sensex in a strong uptrend - Thursday Closing Report
    We had mentioned in Wednesday’s closing report that Nifty, Sensex were still on an uptrend. The major indices opened low but closed with gains. On the NSE, there were 915 advances, 842 declines and 379 unchanged. The trends of the major indices in the course of Thursday’s trading are given in the table below:
     
     
    Indian markets traded lower during the early trade on Thursday. The Sensex fell 60 points while the Nifty trade at 12,203. 
     
    Shares of Clariant Chemicals rallied 9.8% intraday after the company sold its Masterbatch business to a subsidiary of PolyOne for Rs.426 crore.
     
    Yamaha Motor announced its foray into the 125cc scooter segment with two models (drum and disc brakes) and also launched a BS-VI emission norm compliant MT-15, a 155 cc motorcycle. According to Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India, the company will expand its Blue Square retail outlet to 100 numbers in 2020.
     
    Yes Bank’s shares rose despite ratings downgrade. Rating agency ICRA downgraded Yes Bank's Rs52,911.70 crore worth bond programme citing continued uncertainty regarding the timing and quantum of capital raised by the bank. ICRA said that with the delay in capital raise and a likely increase in the NPAs, the capital and solvency profile are expected to weaken further. Hence, the need to raise capital is "immediate".
     
    Crisis-ridden IL&FS Group has received the approval of Justice (Retd.) D.K. Jain to sell its education business—Schoolnet India Limited (erstwhile IL&FS Education & Technology Service) -- to Career Point Publications Private Limited (CPPPL). The financial bid of CPPPL was approved by 78% members of the Committee of Creditors last month through an e-voting process and it needed Justice Jain's approval before being placed before NCLT for final approval to conclude the transaction.
     
    Suven Life Sciences has undergone US FDA renewal inspection at their facility in Pashamylaram near Hyderabad for the manufacture and supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients (bulk drugs), intermediates and formulations under cGMP during Oct 21st through Nov 1st, 2019. 
     
    Based on this FDA inspection and the review thereafter, FDA has determined that the inspection classification of this facility is "voluntary action indicated" ("VAI"). Also FDA has concluded that this inspection is "closed" under 21CFR20.64 (d) (3) and the agency has issued an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) for Suven facility at Pashamylaram.
