Ancient Indian facts are being forgotten and the younger generation, drunk with modern technological feats, seems to have forgotten all our scientific feats which are, in fact, the basis of most western scientific achievements
“It is through science that we prove, but through intuition that we discover.” -Jules H. Poincare
We are supposed to have got independence in 1947. It has only been a political independence and not intellectual independence. We are still the slaves of western thoughts. We have anything but contempt for our ancient wisdom and have that hubris of “scientific” superiority. Even today the Doon School, Oxbridge, and Harvard mentality of the holier than thou attitude towards those that are not western trained is very much in the air. Some of our elite are really not Indians in the true sense. I call them RNIs-Resident non-Indians. That is why we have lost our self- respect. We need a certificate from western science to authenticate anything, although the west seems to be losing faith in their own reductionist science, which does not fit the bill correctly.
Prof John OM Bockris, distinguished professor of chemistry at A&M University in Texas, in his classic The New Paradigm, demolishes the false belief that western science is sacrosanct and goes on to show how all the foundations of science are flawed. Prof Paul Feyerabend of London School of Economics (LSE) fame in his book, Against Method bares the irrationality of western science. So do two physicists, Harry Collins and Trevor Pinch in their treatise, The Golem, expose the myth behind western science and call it a Golem like the Prague Golem -- to keep the colonies under control.
Indian sages had enormous power of their mind where they could see things which ordinary people and even the western science could not see. Thousands of years ago, Indian sages had described the anatomy of the heart in the Narayansooktani (Dashasooktanis). It fits in correctly with our knowledge today. The heart was described by Indian sages as Hridaya, hri means suck and da means to give. This was thousands of years before William Harvey and much more advanced than Frank Starling in exposing the correct physiology of the heart. Anne Besant, Charles Leadbeater and Babington, the three physicists from Cambridge came to India in the early part of last century and became Yogic Sidhis. They had correctly (toady’s opinion) described the inside of the atom of all the elements from hydrogen to helium with the “third” eye they seemed to develop when they get into siddhi. The details are in a small book they wrote in 1920, Occult Chemistry, published by Oxford University Press, Madras. Quantum physics in 2014 feels the same way about the inside of an atom.
Indian vaccination really was able to eradicate the only one disease, small pox. The western vaccination science has a very shaky base and we have not been able to eradicate any disease to date. Edward Jenner’s cow pox vaccine was not able to get any result. In fact, 90% of those vaccinated died of smallpox and the King had to order it stopped. It was TZ Holwell in the year 1747, who studied the Ayurvedic vaccination system in “The Bengall” prospectively for 20 years before submitting it to the Royal College and then to the King. About 90% of those thus vaccinated escaped death from small pox. Rest is history.
Paropakaaraartham idam shareeram is an old Indian adage. Helping others can make you healthier. Greek philosophers argued over the relative benefits of hedonic and eudemonic happiness. Hedonic well-being sees happiness as a factor of increased pleasure and decreased pain, while eudemonic (humanism) happiness has more to do with having a larger purpose or meaning in life. A recent study from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill psychologist Barbara Fredrickson published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences last year, found that while both types of happiness can make you feel good, the latter could promote physical health and longevity as well.
Acupuncture went to China from India where it was called acupressure. This was known to balance the prana or life force, Chi in Chinese. It can restore balance to your body. A new study of acupuncture published in Archives of Internal Medicine found that the age-old practice may be an effective way to relieve migraines, arthritis and other chronic pains. Large families and community support were the back bones of good health in ancient India. A 2010 study conducted by Brigham Young University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researchers confirmed this belief, concluding that a healthy social life promotes longevity. This report analysed 148 studies and 300,000 individuals. The effect of social relationships on mortality risk is even greater than the effect of exercise or obesity.
The famous serenity prayer says it all. Accepting what one cannot change is the key to reducing suffering. Buddhist teachings, one must accept the things they cannot change in order to reduce suffering. Now, scientists have found that this belief rings true, especially for older adults who are working through difficult life changes. Researchers from Deakin University in Australia found “that facing the realities of living with assistance and losing a degree of independence helps seniors live longer and feel far happier.” This study, which was published in the Journal of Happiness Studies last year, compared feelings of life satisfaction and perceived control of older adults living with assistance and those living in the community. The analysis showed that the ability to accept the inevitable in an assisted living setting, was a significant predictor of life satisfaction. The researchers concluded, "In order to protect the well-being of older individuals, adaptation involves both a sense of control and the active acceptance of what cannot be changed."
I have defined health as “enthusiasm to work and enthusiasm to be compassionate.” Now a study has shown this to be true. The Harvard Grant Study, led by psychiatrist George Vaillant, followed the life trajectories of 268 male students in order to answer life’s universal questions of growth, development, value and purpose. Vaillant considers the most meaningful finding of the study to be that a happy life revolves around loving relationships.
Ancient Indian facts are being forgotten and the younger generation, drunk with modern technological feats, seems to have forgotten all our scientific feats which are, in fact, the basis of most western scientific achievements. Aryabhatta, the great astronomer and scientist, discovered zero. The number system was also invented in ancient India. The Indus valley civilization was one of the most advance civilizations in terms of town planning etc. The greatest universities were in India. The most ancient system of medical care, Ayurveda, was the most scientific of systems which looks at man as a whole in connection with his consciousness. India was called the golden bird and all invaders came here to loot that wealth.
Bhaskaracharya, the great astronomer and mathematician of ancient India, was the first person to calculate the time taken by the earth to orbit the sun. It was during the 6th century that Budhayana first calculated the value of pie and explained the concept of Pythagoras theorem. It is interesting to note that ancient India was so advanced in science and mathematics that Algebra, trigonometry and calculus all came from India. In the 11th century Sridharacharya propounded the Quadratic equations. Ancient Indians had a well-developed concept of water harvesting. The earliest reservoir and dam for irrigation was built in Saurashtra. This lake was called Sudarshana and built by the Shaka king, Rudradaman. Indian surgeon Sushruta conducted complicated surgeries like caesareans, cataract, artificial limbs, fractures, stones, plastic surgery and brain surgery. Anaesthesia was well known in India long before that came to England.
Wake up Indian youth to realise and take forward this famous Indian science and make India the leader again just as it was up until the 12th Century.
“Nothing has such power to broaden the mind as the ability to investigate systematically and truly all that comes under your observation in life.” - Marcus Aurelius

i saw and watched the valuable videos of Dr Hegde during Covid and didn't vaccinated.
thank you so much honourable Dr I am perfectly fit and fine as per your definition of health.

Our ancestors knew everything about the human body, including the eyes. Plus they were very health conscious and never suffered from bad vision. In rare cases when this happened, they resorted to their third eye. There was absolutely no need for spectacles. So despite knowing how to make glass and then a lens they did not develop spectacles. The aam aadmi in those days probably suffered from bad eyesight as he grew older but it did not matter because he couldn’t read anyway. Then in the late 13th century spectacles started appearing in Europe and along with that, illnesses such as cataract and glaucoma. Just as our rishis had predicted. They knew that light vibrations are affected while travelling through spectacles, which is harmful to eyes. This was one reason why they did not reveal the technique for making spectacles. The other reason was to prevent knowledge reaching those who were unprepared for receiving it. Give the aam aadmi spectacles and the next thing he will ask is to give him something to read. The consequences would be disastrous.
This was exactly what happened in Europe. People had access to spectacles but all reading material was written by hand and only the elite could afford books. But then in the mid 15th century some idiot by the name of Gutenberg invented the printing press, something which our ancients had zealously avoided doing. Of course they knew about the printing press and that too working on electricity. You think minds powerful enough to master quantum mechanics and the intricate working of the human brain couldn’t come up with such a trivial thing as a printing press? Anyway, Europe and eventually the whole world found itself in an irreversible slide once the printing press was invented. Suddenly knowledge was available to the aam aadmi and science went berserk. People like Rutherford started dabbling in physics instead of repairing wagon wheels and Fleming tinkered with agar filled petri dishes instead of tilling the land. In our country too, Mashelkar, a maid servant’s son pursued engineering and Khorana, a farmer’s son did biochemistry. No wonder modern science is myopic and full of faulty reductionist theories. This is what happens when people who should not be pursuing science become scientists. So great is the downfall that today a rickshaw driver’s daughter can become a doctor, a slum-dweller can aspire to be a computer scientist and a tailor’s son can become an architect. How awful. To top it all, some people who are obviously drunk with modern technological feats actually believe that the world in general and India in particular is a much better place today than what it was anytime in the past. Ridiculous.
I wish I had a time machine that would take me back to my glorious past. This is one thing where the ancients were really wise. They knew how to build one but they did not document it, even orally. They knew that had they done it some nitwit would eventually build one and people would make a beeline and rush to the past. Nobody likes dealing with crowds, you know.
I have argued spirit with scientists, even they, with great knowledge descend into name calling and other insults. Just because they can not prove God. To them, He does not exist. To them, His creation is for exploiting. To them, the Earth should bend to the world.
Make songs with knowledge, but dance them with wisdom.
I know, in my heart, India can once again be India. It has to, I love Her food too much. Body and soul.
Now, I see in these comments a deep conflict of these times of transformation. One hand makes offerings to the past, the other hand reaches into the future.
Our American Indians also have passed through this anomaly of times. Unfortunately, the powers that control this country turned it's back on the people's wisdom and embraced materialism instead. So far, the promise of goodness has been a lie. Our rivers stink now. And many other insults to the land have been propagated. I hope India's manifold wisdom does a better job of finding this balance.
I see great danger for India by ignoring one to advance the other.
Power is a combination of strength and character. Iron needs to be hardened, and then drawn. Drawn back from the hardness to achieve it's true strength.
Science in no way diminishes the need for the Gods that gave us science.
In this country, I draw circles of concentration where our astrophysicists come to meditate on they're knowledge. I provide clarity of thought for them, the Gods I invoke provide inspiration for them. As it should be.
I thank the Gods of India for Her Hindu people. Without you, I would have no one to express these things too. Any other religion would seek to kill me.
It is my belief that life is for making decisions through which we demonstrate to the Gods who we truly are.
India, you now have a great fork in your road. I hope you choose and balance well. You now have twins, please don't kill one to feed the other. We all should respect those who have gone before. And support those who forge ahead. In the balance of two legs is how we walk the farthest.
We should stand on the shoulder bones of our ancestors. And walk the stones of time. In balance, of course.
India, you have humbled me often. You're wisdom flows deeply throughout this world, and beyond. I love the Gods. I know they are very real. Wake up and dance they're beautiful mornings, so that they might illuminate the wonderfully bright day.
Thank You
You have repeatedly referred to "Gods" of Hindus.
Yes, there are myriad deities in Hinduism. But
"Ekam sat vipra bahudha vadanti"
That which exists is One. Sages call it by various names
I am not certain how to refer to the individual deities I encounter.
It's the same in Christianity. Many entities, one God. But that God is not approachable and is incomprehensible to the human mind.
I know I deal with the emanations of a great mystery.
I can not call them lord because that would reduce them to an earthly measure. That is from my Irish tradition. Ladies and Lords are human. Mighty ones and holy ones are the deities. And yes, there is the one, we call An. We consider it the Universal aspiration that permeates all things. Just for the sharing I offer this. In exchange for your wisdom.
I do hope my semantics do not distract from the message.
As I have stated, I do not know why they come to me. But I do feel impelled to give them voice.
In your tongue, there must be a difference between God and deity.
Not so in mine. To me, God means a race of deities. Yet I can distinctly feel a one source. It is like staring into the Sun, I just can't do it for very long. So, I stare at the stars instead.
So, I think I should correct myself and say deity instead of God? I notice you do not capitalize deity. I take it that deity is not as revered as is God?
Dear sir, I walk with them. It is they who lead me on. Perhaps to the God. I won't know until I arrive. In my later blink, my later breath. I aspire for they're inspire. Until then I keep my head in heaven, my feet on the Earth, and let my heart shine light on the path before me.
I don't think they really care what we call them, so long as we call them.
"By whatever name you call me, I am nameless unto eternity". according to an invocation from the Egyptian Thoth. But I find it applies universally in many instances of evocation and invocation.
Mr. Mohan, please find no insult in my words. I am only trying to understand how to properly frame things for your sensibilities.
Thank you so much for your attention. I find this valuable. I hope I am not to brisk, my culture is young.
If someone wishes to build a nuclear site, I would hope they have a deity guiding they're hands, and not just the greed inspired hand of man. Otherwise, we are but empty sacks of flesh.
India, you humble me once again. So, deity it shall be.
Sincerely; j.t.
PS: Your culture demands great respect, if I am only a bother to you, please be kind and say so. I will understand.
Erudite scholars of Hinduism say "Brahman" is the impersonal and formless conception of what we call "God".
“Ayam atma brahma”
I am this Self (Atman) that is Brahman
It has become apparent to me that all religions emanate from the same source. Brahma, Ahn, or any other. It must be the same, if it is source. I believe all of them contain the aspiration ah, or om.
To exhale self, and inhale Brahma has been most pleasant, thank you, I thank Brahma and His many deities.
I am recovering well. Much thanks to the many deities I have walked with all of my life. Even as a child, deity has been no mystery to me. It has simply been what is front of my eyes.
I do not see me as anything special or different than any other.
Some try to make it happen, I simply let it happen. I think I never lost my childish views of things sacred. So, they embrace me. By whatever name I call them.
I think I should leave for a while and study more, so that I speak a better sense in your ear.
These conversations require a certain sensitivity that I presently lack.
Many eyes are on us. I did not come here to cause disrespect for Hinduism. The Hindu in my country are not friendly people. I lay no blame at they're feet. It is politics that spoil they're spirit, not the religion.
It is deeply sad to understand that the Hindu, Sikh, and Muslim are inseparable in the minds of my compatriots. Even so, we have books.
Aloha!
Our 5 senses are so cluttered with noise that we donot get finer vibrations & hence we donot develop clairvoyance Intution 6th sense which is combination of clair-Audation/Gluttonary/Sentinence/Smell/sight.
Mahesh
Gods do not attend temples, they attend they're creation. Us.
"Looking within is where we see most clearly".
How sweet to behold the world as Vishnu intended it.
Even sweeter to find those who remember.
"Isavasyam idam sarvam"
The entire universe is indwelt, enveloped, covered by the Supreme Being
I will weave this saying into my temple. I have walked with gods from all over the world. I studied Sanskrit 40 years ago. I remember so little of it.
I have danced with Lord Siva, Sri Krishna taught me to play flute to Govinda's cows. They gave more and sweeter milk. I have been with Lord Ganesh in pagodas floating about his left eye and ear while touching Him with colored ribbons. Myriad and marvelous the Gods of India.
They have drawn my smiles. They have drawn my tears through simple love.
Even now the memory wets my old orbs.
I will weave, dance, and chant "Isavasyam idam sarvam" forever. I will become this chant in honor of the ones I forgot.
May the falling leaves of heavens lotus soften your path.
You have turned me around Mr Mohan. To face where I have come from, that is, from where began my path to the world's Gods.
This will fill with light tomorrows Lunar eclipse.
Nama Om
we do not have any work culture , only with some Hunter people can work. temples are getting gold garland worth crores , while there is no sanitation / water. how does it help the country?
are jobs generated by donating gold/ diamond to temple?
we also need to look at eating habits.. how many celebrities drink "poison" cola endorsed by them? or eat noodle or similar junk food? Entire generation is getting raised on third class diet. it leads to health issues, making India the biggest diabetic and BP market in the world.
You mean to say that only the "Baba" worshipers and "temple' goers will make protests if asked to work with sincerity?
You may kindly list the name of the temples that are getting gold garlands worth crores of rupees on a daily basis ?
You mean sanitation/water is to be provided by the temple authorities and not by the Government?
(What about the temple administration governed by the Government? )
You mean that only the Hindu community have no work culture?
You said that " Entire generation is getting raised on third class diet. it leads to health issues, making India the biggest diabetic and BP market in the world". Is it because of Hindu culture health issues happen?
As far science goes, it is not as if Indians have made no contributions in recent times. For example in the field I work in (statistics and optimization), two huge names were/are from India: P.C. Mahalanobis and Narendra Karmarkar.
Mahalanobis formulated a metric in statistics that is now used widely and is named after him. How many of you have heard of him? Dr. Karmarkar invented a new algorithm to solve the so-called linear program, and that algorithm is named after him. His work has left behind a trail of other algorithms --- that work in a similar fashion. I'm sure this name is even less known! Both did make their discoveries abroad, but returned to India. Dr. Karmarkar does not even have a Padma Shri from what I know. What a shame!
Most professionals work hard because they like what they do (they have a purpose in life and it isn't easy to say exactly what drives them) --- not to become millionaires! But they still expect to make a decent living and not to have to struggle! When that starts happening again, India will rediscover herself.
Possibly the talk can help clear the cobwebs from certain nutty 'doubters' !
