He runs at least two NGOs – Namma Bengaluru and Flags of Honour Foundation. He has been vocal about the 2G scam, net neutrality and OROP. He has introduced several private member bills and is passionate about use of technology to transform governance. He argues that “ Parliamentary disruptions are an unforgivable waste of taxpayers’ money”. He is an engineer and an MS in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. He is among the few MPs to stress on digital security, privacy issues, financial literacy and for a cyber dispute settlement mechanism.

Baijayant Panda
Baijayant "Jay" Panda is a Lok Sabha MP from the Biju Janata Dal. He has a background in engineering and management and has studied at the Michigan Technological University. Mr Panda believes that India should consider a universal basic income (UBI) to replace its current social welfare programs, which he says are “grossly inefficient, corruption-ridden, misdirected towards the better-off, and thus unable to achieve stated objectives”. He is a believer in local self government and has argued that we need urgent reform in banking, agriculture, labour laws as well as judicial and administrative reforms in order to become a ‘full fledged middle income country”. He is the rare MP who has announced that he would return a part of his salary proportional to the time wasted in the winter session of parliament.
