Mitch Zacks is innovative; he introduced a novel approach to stock-picking. In his book Ahead of the Market, written in 2003, he pointed out that while analysts’ ratings of stocks are not that useful, there is a profitable way of using them. He advised: watch the change in the collective ratings. When analysts revise their ratings upwards, a stock is likely to move higher.
