Wind turbine supplier Suzlon Energy Ltd inaugurated a new research and development (R&D) and technology centre at Rostock in Germany.
The new facility is spread over 3,800 sq m. At present there are around 120 employees and the company plans to house 200 employees shortly, Suzlon said in a statement.
On Wednesday, Suzlon shares closed 0.7% up at Rs46 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 1.3% higher at 18,205 points.
Steel Strips Wheels Ltd said it sold 805,881 units of steel wheels in August 2010, a growth of 55%, as compared to 519,812 units in the same month last year.
The automotive steel wheels manufacturer has also registered a growth of 51% in steel wheel production last month. In August 2010, its steel wheel production increased to 796,418 from 527,612 in same month last year.
During August 2010, the company export sales of wheel rims stood at 77,692 as against 26,247 in August 2009, reporting a growth of 196%.
On Wednesday, Steel Strips Wheels shares closed 7.4% higher at Rs242 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 1.3% up at 18,205 points.
The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said its August sales rose 23.65 to 104,791 units compared with 84,808 units sold during same month last year.
During August, the company also launched Alto-K10 with 1-litre K-series engine and five compressed natural gas (CNG) models.
On Wednesday, Maruti Suzuki shares gained 1.4% to Rs1,273 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 1.3% higher at 18,205 points.
