Reliance Communications Ltd (RCom) said it has launched third generation (3G) services in Kashmir.
Last year, in December, RCom launched 3G services in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Punjab, Jammu and Rajasthan, the company said in a statement.
"Launching of 3G capabilities in Kashmir is an integral part of our Vision 2015 of creating a 'Wirefree India' built upon the affordable 3G-for-all platform," RCom's J&K circle head--wireless business, Ataul Haque, said.
In May 2010, RCom won 13 key telecom circles during the 3G auction, including the key metros of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
The company also holds 3G licences in the telecom circles of Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, North East, Jammu & Kashmir, Orissa and Assam.
The company paid about Rs8,585.04 crore to the government for the 3G licences.
RCom has partnered with organisations like Nokia for devices, Facebook, Nokia and Ericsson for applications, Universal Music for content and Motricity for its web portal under its 3G initiative.
On Tuesday, RCom ended 1.49% up at Rs95.10 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex declined 0.77% to 18,296.16.
Maruti Suzuki India expects the diesel variant of its SX4 sedan to be as successful as other diesel cars
Car-maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) has launched a diesel variant of its SX4 sedan at an introductory price of Rs7.74-Rs8.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
"The new age diesel technology as offered by SX4 is high on power and performance, while being low on emissions. SX4 diesel offers an economical and punchier ride," MSIL, managing director and CEO, Shinzo Nakanishi said.
The company expects the new variant to be as successful as other diesel cars from MSIL's stable, he added.
Swift, DZiRE and Ritz are the three other cars from the company that are available in diesel variants.
MSIL claims that the SX4 diesel will give a mileage of 21.5 km per litre. The SX4 also comes in petrol and CNG variants.
On Tuesday, MSIL ended 2.38% down at Rs1,183.75 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex declined 0.77% to 18,296.16.

DQ Entertainment (International) Ltd said that it has signed an agreement for the exclusive broadcast and distribution right for The Jungle Book 3D TV series in Italy to RAI DUE, an Italian television broadcaster.
The agreement was signed through DQE's co-production partner ZDF Enterprises, Germany and will see RAI 2 hold all the broadcasting rights to 'The Jungle Book' in Italy.
RAI 2 is one of the three main television channels broadcast by Italian broadcaster RAI, alongside RAI 1 and RAI 3. RAI is the biggest television company in Italy having the highest audience penetration for this region.
ZDF Enterprises is a subsidiary of ZDF, a television broadcaster in Europe, and is responsible for worldwide program sales, the implementation of international co productions, license purchasing for quality programs, marketing online rights and the merchandising of strong ZDF program brands.
