Shares of airlines companies surged 16%, while shares of office equipment companies and petrochemicals companies advanced 4% each. Shares of chemicals companies rose 3%. Stocks of steel companies, garment companies, real estate companies, trading companies and pharma companies declined 7% each.
Combined food inflation for rural and urban areas was 5.73% for June 2015, compared to 5.13% recorded for May 2015. For rural and urban areas, food inflation was 5.94% and 5.41%, respectively, in June. Inflation in vegetable prices was at 5.37% in June, compared to 4.64% in May this year. Inflation in fruit prices was 3.51% in June, while pulses were dearer by 22.24% year-on-year. Inflation for cereals stood at 1.98% and inflation for milk products was 7.18%. Price rise of non-vegetarian items, such as meat and fish, was 6.99% in June 2015 compared to 5.43% in May 2015.
