Mega wedding turns the spotlight on frequent misuse of political power and money

The upcoming wedding of Andhra Pradesh transport minister’s daughter’s wedding highlights how officials misuse power and money to overcome entrepreneurs and the common man. This isn’t the first time this has happened

The recent controversy surrounding the extravagant wedding of Andhra Pradesh (AP) transport minister Botsa Satyanarayana’s daughter highlights the ways in which tax payers’ money is being misused at the cost of small entrepreneurs. According to media reports (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/hyderabad/Botsa-daughters-mega-wedding-bash-has-govt-staff-in-a-tizzy/articleshow/17054529.cms) the mega wedding is expected to accommodate around 80,000 invitees, including top government officials, governors and ‘VVIP’ guests.

So big and ‘important’ was the wedding that AP government officials had to call off the “Gram Sandarsha” programme as ministers had to attend the wedding. It is shocking to learn that some of them even misused tax payers’ money to attend the wedding on the pretext of attending meetings. Further more, media reports that the panchayati raj department, which is supposed to look after interest of villager and the poor, have been entrusted to take care of hospitality needs instead, especially accommodating wedding guests in five-star hotels.

Even worse, we hear that some vehicles owners were asked to have their vehicle impounded because there was lack of vehicles to transport ministers to the wedding. Check out the image below.
It doesn’t end here. It is also reported that taxi owners were promised rent of Rs1,000 when the commercial rate is actually Rs4,500. Even small entrepreneurs like taxi drivers are coerced to give up their gains if they had gone about doing their business.

However, this kind of atrocity isn’t new to the Andhra Pradesh government. It has happened before as well. Former expenditure secretary to the central government, EAS Sarma had written a strongly worded letter to the state chief minister about the manner in which small entrepreneurs are being made to suffer a loss due to strong arm tactics of the government and all for an extravagant spending on another wedding. In this case, an examination venue had to be shifted to accommodate another wedding, which resulted in loss of life and future life prospects.

To
Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy
Chief Minister
Andhra Pradesh

Dear Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy garu,

I enclose an extract of a disturbing news report on the shifting of a centre in Srikakulam for the examination of candidates for VAO/ VRA appointments on Sunday to accommodate the Minister’s son’s wedding reception! There have been reports of at least one candidate trying to rush to another centre as a result of this avoidable dislocation, meeting with a serious accident in which her father lost his life and she was injured.

Some days ago, the same Minister, for a similar event, did not hesitate to break down the compound wall of a school and damage the precincts, without either the district authorities or the State Education Department resisting it.

In the recent past, this very same person has thrown a veiled threat against all those that disagree with him on matters of public policy, committing an act of indiscretion that is condemnable.

Of late, we have witnessed the same Minister’s involvement in the allotment of a valuable granite mine to his son in the same district. In another district, his son has got a valuable apartment for a song in return for the favours shown to the building developer who has misappropriated the land on the basis of fabricated documents. The State government has shown its complicity in this infamous matter by (i) dragging its feet in allowing prosecution of the culprits under Prevention of Corruption Act, (ii) suppressing the facts before Hon’ble Lok Ayukta on a case filed against this and (iii) allowing the culprits enough time to interfere with the evidence and get interim court orders against public interest.

In any civilized society, such persons would have been brought to the book straightaway. A public representative would have been sacked without any hesitation from the sacred office he is in occupation of. It is only in a banana State that encourages feudal tyranny that such persons are allowed to continue and flaunt their authority to threaten the common people.

If your government allows such atrocities to persist, we will be constrained to draw the inference that they have your taciturn support. Ours is a civilized democracy in which the rule of law is supreme and the persons occupying public offices accountable. They cannot take the law, the democratic conventions and the people for granted.

I request you to ascertain the facts and, if the facts as reported are true, ask the concerned Minister to quit gracefully.

Regards,

Yours sincerely,
E.A.S.Sarma

It would seem that the Andhra Pradesh government is not concerned about the welfare of entrepreneurs and the common man and continues its lavish ways at the expense of the tax payers’. There is no end in sight to this brazen loot of tax payers’ money, that too for a mega wedding and the way they strong-arm to their own convenience.

CNN_IBN Reporters Questioned Ministers ,Including Botsa Satyanaraya, why so many Govt.officials are utilised for it and their stock reply is that so many Ministers attended Marriage and consequently elaborate Bandobastu arrangements are done for Function's smooth running. But Ministers, etc have got their OWN VIP Security Provided DGP of AP,IG of visakhapatnam District and district transport commissioner have to answer on whose orders they have done like this.CM do not take any action on Mr.Sarma's letter ,as his existence stands on ministers support, but he has got minimum duty of issuing circular to all departments not to waste its staffs valuable time for Private functions.

Now Media says 700 Constables and 125 Police officers including DSPs were on Duty for Wedding to ensure smooth Function. Imagine Public Money Wastage for a Private Wedding.
2 ) Govt. boasts of Doing manythings for Girls/Ladies.Girl's wedding Expenses are to be Borne by Her Parents ,as per Customs Practiced in India now.Parents will be in debts for many years on perforforming Daughters Marriage.Afraiding of Parents Financial Troubles for her Wedding,Girls are Postponing their Marriages,Leading to Non-availability of Brides ,who are already in Scarcity, due to growing gender gap.( 3 ) POLITICIANS should be of Examples to society by performing their Daughters Marriges Simpler ,so that society can guided to follow.Unfortunately With their Money earned UnEthically,Politicians are using Weddings as a show of their MONEY Power.( 4 )In addition to No-Dowry ACT in Existance,Govt shoud enact Law to Limit Brides Parents Burden,by Prescribing Limits of Expenses incurred for Wedding,to Different economic classes of people in Society.

it is shameful the Minister belings to a party where the then PM Indira Gandhi had marriages of both her sons with guests numbering no more the eleven. Children of Communist Party CMs also get married where thousands of well wishers participate but the guests will be served only cool drinks. it is time that guest control acts are put in place for elected representatives and Public servants that guest list is limited to 100 only.

1 ) Visakhapatnam-Deputy Commissioner and Mr.P.GopiKrishna - Assistant Commisioner , who signed Letter are to be suspended, for issuing such official letter for a Private Wedding. All State Govt.Employees worked for the Wedding Arrangements are to be ashamed for forgetting that their salaries are Paid from Public Taxes and not by Ministers-for not knowing their exact Duties. As all this Data can be obtained by using RTI,IAC team or NGOs should try to get data and file PILs,so that Courts can order their suspension enmass.
2)Rs.2 Crores are spent for the Wedding set by film sets designers - itself is UNImaginable -that too in SRIkakulam - underdeveloped area -in Poor Country like India. (3) without Bueucrates Submissiveness Ministers Money Grabbing or their Extravanaza Expenditure is not Possible.
Thus sending Home Submissive Bueareocrates and corrupted Politicians is only solution to curb such things.

Regular health check-up: A dangerous misadventure?

In addition to the lack of clear benefit, general health checks potentially cause harm. Among the harms are the diagnosis of conditions that were never destined to cause symptoms or death and the risk for unnecessary treatment

“It did what all ads are supposed to do: create an anxiety relievable by purchase”—David Foster Wallace

When one is healthy one should avoid any kind of check-up for any reason. How does one know that s/he is healthy? It is very simple. The present definition of health is “enthusiasm to work and enthusiasm to be compassionate.” For all practical purposes the definition of health in Ayurveda is still better. If one lives by the simple laws of nature and has enthusiasm to work, has good appetite, gets good sleep at night, has all the excretory functions under control, avoids the two deadly enemies of good health viz. alcohol and tobacco, with the mind filled with universal compassion having no negative feelings of anger, pride, jealousy, hatred and greed, s/he will have to be healthy. If one has developed bad habits then s/he will have to see the doctor for various symptoms of ill health.

Lay people should know the simple laws of human physiology lest they should fall prey to the constant advertisement claptrap of the screening industry which makes it appear that routine a check-up would keep one healthy and keep one here for ever! The human body is built with an indwelling doctor, our immune system, along with the autonomic nervous system for emergency care, both of which tries and keeps us healthy under all circumstances of daily routine or even under emergency situations. There are no dangers in the artificially-created new diseases like pre-diabetes, pre-hypertension, pre-cancer etc. Every one of us will have several cancer seeds inside us daily but very rarely do any of them become a real cancer. The body’s immune system tries to correct all abnormalities under all circumstances without external help. It is only in the unlikely event that our immune system is compromised for any reason do we suffer from an illness when symptoms let us know that something is amiss. It is only in this symptomatic stage that external help from the medical world might assist the immune system to correct the anomaly. That is why Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, advised doctors: “to cure rarely, comfort mostly, but console always.” In short, a doctor can only help the inner physician.

Studies have now convincingly proven that any attempt to either drug or intervene in the pre-symptomatic stage will only create more problems—the new name for that is “disease creep”. The screening industry will only make newer diseases creep on you—a misadventure. There is no pill for every ill but there is an ill following every pill. Although pills thrill they could positively kill.

Even in surgery the real healing comes from our own doctor. When one breaks a bone the arthropod might set it right but the healing has to come from within. The body’s doctor is so ingenious and modern that the ordinary red blood cell derived from the clot at the site of the fracture gradually turns itself into a pluri-potent stem cell to heal the wound and the bone! This was elegantly shown by Robert Becker in the early sixties in New York. Although his paper got published in Nature and Science, the medical world hardly knows about it. We are trying to build in vain our exogenous stem cells without any success. No surgeon of repute including the most illustrated ones, can heal a wound after surgery. The healing again has to come from our inner healer who, like magic, can convert any cell into a stem cell capable of producing all structures! No surgeon can make an operation heal in a dead body.

I must warn those that smoke and drink alcohol to be careful as their symptom recognising skills could be dulled to a great extent. They need to see their doctors more frequently, though! For over four decades I have been fighting a losing battle against the screening juggernaut without much success! I am relieved now that the world’s greatest medical data base, the Cochrane database has thrown up exactly what I have been advocating for decades. It brings unbounded joy to me to present their data to the lay readers so that they need not become victims of diseases creep on them. I have extensively written elsewhere as to why screening fails since we do not have anything called ‘normal’ in medical science. We are only talking of statistical averages which we use synonymously with ‘normal’ to make money from false positive results that abound in such a situation. I am not elaborating on that here for want of space.

“Performing general health checks and screening asymptomatic adults for diseases or their risk factors did not reduce either overall morbidity or mortality, according to a review published online October 17 in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.

The large number of participants and deaths in the studies, the long follow-up, and the absence of a reduction in cardiovascular and cancer mortality suggest that general health checks are unlikely to be beneficial, conclude Lasse T Krogsbøll, MD, and colleagues, all from the Nordic Cochrane Centre in Denmark.
Health checks of healthy people are a recent phenomenon, the authors noted. The evolution of medicine and new diagnostic methods in the latter half of the twentieth century, they write, has “increased expectations that many diseases can be prevented or discovered before there is irreversible damage.” However, studies such as this one suggest that these expectations may not be met, they add.

Benefits Smaller, Harms Greater

In addition to the lack of clear benefit, general health checks potentially cause harm, the authors write. “Experience from screening programmes for individual diseases have shown that the benefits may be smaller than expected and the harms greater,” they note.

Among the harms they cite are the diagnosis of conditions that were never destined to cause symptoms or death and the risk for unnecessary treatment. “While we cannot be certain that screening leads to benefit, all medical interventions can lead to harm,” the authors note. The study, however, did not document harm.

The researchers “make an excellent point that a well person can go in for a general check-up and have screening done that can lead to a cascade of events that can lead to more harm than good,” Glen Stream, MD, MBI, chair of the board of directors at the American Academy of Family Physicians, said.

Now that the Holy water has come from the western conch, our westernised people also can avoid diseases creep on them by not going for a routine check up when healthy. Please note that any symptom, however trivial you think that is, should merit a family physician’s consultation, not necessarily to start on drugs but to put your heads together to see what needs to be done. Do not neglect any symptom. Never self treat yourself.
Candace Pert, the lady who found out for the first time the existence of opiate receptors outside the brain but failed to get her a Nobel due to her boss wanting his name also in the paper, writes in her book: “Time will soon come when we have a headache, instead of reaching for the drug cupboard, we would be sitting down to meditate to get to the correct level of relaxation to secrete the right opiates from our forebrain to relive the headache!”

Jagdish Sharma's Gandhi family connection?

According to IAC, Sharma, who disrupted Arvind Kejriwal's press conference, seems to be a close aide of the Gandhi family. Here are some images of Sharma provided by IAC

Jagdish Sharma, who disrupted Arvind Kejriwal's press conference on 31st October is a close aid of the Gandhi family, alleged India Against Corruption (IAC).

In a release, IAC said, "He (Sharma) seems to be a close aide of Gandhi family. Has the Nehru-Gandhi family descended to Khurshid’s level where they would send goons to disrupt our meeting? In such circumstances, any attack on IAC activists would have to be presumed to be at the behest of Congress if unless the contrary is proved."

Here are the photographs of Sharma with Gandhi family and with Robert Vadra provided by IAC...

Gandhi following seems to be in the offensive mode as instructed by Sonia 'be offensive' and people like Jagdish Sharma appear to prevail on the Gandhi family than the inteligentia. As Subrahmanyam Swami has said, since the Gandhi Family as a whole is uneducated they have no value or understanding of the issues where gray cell matters.

This is a bit rough. Education and Values do not have connection. Perhaps the other way connection!!
And where did we find Sonia Gandhi's values wanting? All liberal christian values into Indian politics have come after a long gap, during her times only.

Many Congress Leaders denied them as False I.e Sharma do not have any connection with Sonia Gandhi's Family.Even Sharma declared that he is only a Cogress Worker.Photos show differently.IAC has to declare the Connections of events Each Photo is taken. If any Photo is Delhi- SoniaGandhi or Their family events ,We have to agree that He is very close to them. Thus IAC has to gather some more Data ,Background of Sharma and put in Public,to enable us to come to Conclusion.

We are listening!
