L&T wins Rs1,440 crore orders in buildings, factories segment

Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) said its buildings and factories unit won orders worth Rs1,440 crore for construction of residential towers, township and factory buildings.

L&T has secured new orders of about to Rs1,294 crore for the construction of residential towers and township from various developers. Majority of the above orders have been secured on a design and build basis. Orders worth Rs146 crore have been secured from various clients including add on orders from the ongoing factory jobs.

On Friday, L&T shares gained 1.3% to Rs1,798 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex closed 0.3% up at 17,570 points.

XL Telecom wins Rs52.5 crore solar panel export orders

Secunderabad-based XL Telecom and Energy Ltd said it won two orders worth Rs52.5 crore for supply of export of solar photovoltaic panels to Europe.
One of the customers is an EPC company in Italy from whom this is the trail order. The second order is for supply of the popular 230 Wp size panels, the Czech order is for supply of 200 Wp panels, the company said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

On Friday, XL Telecom & Energy shares declined 1.5% to Rs35 on the BSE, while the benchmark Sensex closed 0.3% up at 17,570 points.

Sun Pharma gets FDA approval for generic Xanax tablets

Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd said it received abbreviated new drug application (ADNA) from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) approval for its alprazolam tablets a generic version of Xanax.

Alprazolam tablets are used for treatment of anxiety disorder or the short-term relief of symptoms of anxiety. It is also indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.
These generic alprazolam tablets, equivalent to Pfizer's Xanax tablets, include four strengths: 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg and 2 mg. Annual sale in the US for these strengths of branded and generic alprazolam tablets is estimated at $145 million, the company said in a regulatory filing.

On Friday, Sun Pharma shares ended 0.5% up at Rs1,710 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex closed 0.3% up at 17,570 points.
