All water ways, rivers, sharing of river waters by states etc should be all under central govt. so that all developments & inter connecting of rivers & equitable distribution of river waters by states could be guaranteed. This should be taken up on priority. Linking of rivers is pending for decades & emergency spending for floods & drought are still continuing and it has become an annual phenomenon.

Saradha scam: ED attaches properties of ex-minister, others
The Enforcement Directorate on Monday attached properties worth several crores of rupees belonging to people accused in the Saradha scam, including former union minister Matang Sinh.

According to an ED source, properties both moveable and immoveable, spread across Assam, West Bengal and Mumbai were seized under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

"The seized properties belong to Matang Sinh, Manoranjana Sinh and painter Shuvaprasanna," said the source.

While both Sinh and his estranged wife Manoranjana were arrested by the CBI for their alleged complicity in the multi-crore-rupee scam, Shuvaprasanna has been grilled by probe agencies.

Probing the money trail in the scam, the ED has so far attached assets of the Saradha Group worth several hundred crore rupees.

It is good news that the properties of the people involved in Sarada scams is attached by ED. Similarly why not attach the properties of all central ministers & others who are involved in similar scams like coal gate, 2G spectrum, Asian games and so on. It is high time the laws are made more stringent to attach & confiscate all unaccounted properties without any reservation.

A total of Rs.4,595 crore has been collected from 348 toll plazas across India in the current fiscal up to November 15, parliament was informed on Monday.

"Fee is levied and collected on small stretches of National Highways," said Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Pon Radhakrishnan told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

However, due to public opposition, toll plazas in Suratkhal-Nantoor section of National Highway (NH) 66 in Karnataka, Nellore Bypass of NH 5 in Andhra Pradesh and Kalamassery- ICTT Vallarpadam of NH 966 in Kerala could not collect toll fee since some months, the minister said.

With 43 toll plazas, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh have the highest number in India followed by Rajasthan with 38 and Gujarat and Maharasthra with 32, Radhakrishnan said.

Hi. Mumbai Toll naka have stopped giving Printed rxpts with Serial Number. Now they are issuing Rxpts printed on Thermal paper with No serial number. Thus, one can't make out as to how many Rxpts were issues. Also Thermal paper fades over few days. So no proof is available that one has paid toll. This is new method of hiding underreporting. Now toll nakas can claim any amount of Rxpts issued as no serial number is printed or can be monitored during checks. Pl take up this matter urgently.
