Geojit BNP Paribas’ Q4 net falls 60.9% to Rs2.92 crore

For the year ended 31st March, consolidated net profit fell 38.52% to Rs28.39 crore from Rs46.18 crore in the last year. Consolidated total income also decreased 8.08% to Rs257.49 crore in the year under review from Rs280.11 crore in the previous year

Mumbai: Brokerage firm Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services on Tuesday said its consolidated net profit dropped 60.96% to Rs2.92 crore in the fourth quarter ended 31 March 2011 over the corresponding period a year ago, reports PTI.

It had a consolidated net profit of Rs7.48 crore in the same period last fiscal, Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services said in a filing with the National Stock Exchange.

Consolidated total income declined to Rs59.10 crore in the quarter under review from Rs62.08 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

For the year ended 31 March 2011, consolidated net profit fell 38.52% to Rs28.39 crore from Rs46.18 crore in the last year. Consolidated total income also decreased 8.08% to Rs257.49 crore in the year under review from Rs280.11 crore in the previous year.

For the quarter ended 31 March 2011, standalone net profit slid to Rs3 crore from Rs8.5 crore in the same period last year. Standalone total income slipped to Rs51.67 crore in the quarter under review from Rs56.11 crore in the same period previous year.

For the year ended 31 March 2011, standalone net profit declined to Rs48.75 crore from Rs57.15 crore in the last year. Standalone total income decreased to Rs234.75 crore in the year under review from Rs261.92 crore in the previous year.

Consolidated results cover the operations of its subsidiaries and joint ventures in United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and India, it said.

As the company has only one reportable segment, i.e. broking and financial services, separate segment report is not applicable, it added.
