ICSA Q2 net profit Rs29.4 crore vs Rs27.8 crore

ICSA (India) Ltd, said its net profit for the September 2010 quarter stood at Rs29.4 crore from Rs27.8 crore in the same quarter last year.

During the September 2010 quarter, the power sector technology solutions provider said its total revenues grew to Rs325.4 crore from Rs307.2 crore, a year ago.

The total order book for the company in the September 2010 stands at Rs1,892 crore, the company said in a press release.On Thursday, ICSA shares ended 0.9% up at Rs149 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex closed 2.1% up at 20,893 points.

JSW Steel October crude steel production up 23%

JSW Steel Ltd said that it has registered a 23% growth in crude steel production in October at 0.559 million tonnes. The production, in the same month last year, was 0.453 million tonnes.

JSW Steel in a statement said that sequentially too, the company reported a 9% growth in monthly crude steel production. Rolled products (flat) production in October rose by 41% at 0.417 million tonnes against 0.296 million tonnes in the year ago period. Its rolled products (long) production in the month rose 32% at 0.101 million tonnes as against 76,000 tonnes in the year ago period, the company said.

On Thursday, JSW Steel shares increased 1.7% to Rs1,351 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex closed 2.1% up at 20,893 points.

Essel Propack Q2 net profit rises 43.5% to Rs13.46 crore

Essel Group's packaging firm Essel Propack Ltd said its net profit for the September 2010 quarter rose 43.5% to Rs13.5 crore from Rs9.38 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company's revenue rose by 19.8% for the three month period under review at Rs368.7 crore, Essel Propack said in a statement.

"The results for the current quarter reflect performance only of its global packaging business, with the non-core medical devices business having been divested in December 2009 by its overseas subsidiaries," the statement said.
On Thursday, Essel Propack shares ended 0.6% up at Rs55 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex closed 2.1% up at 20,893 points.
