GMR Industries net loss stood at Rs30 crore in Q2

Sugar producer GMR Industries Ltd has reported net loss of Rs30 crore in the second quarter ended September 2010 as against loss of Rs18.3 crore in the same quarter last year.

In the September 2010 quarter, its total revenues stood at Rs20.5 crore from Rs18.3 crore, while its net sales increased to Rs20 crore from Rs16.6 crore, said the company in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

On Monday, GMR Industries shares gained 0.4% to Rs147 on the BSE, while the benchmark Sensex ended 0.7% up at 20,303 points.

Torrent Pharma reports net profit of Rs76.2 crore in Q2

Ahmedabad-based Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd said its net profit for the second quarter ended September 2010 stood at Rs76.2 crore compared to Rs74 crore in the same quarter last year.

During the September 2010 quarter, the pharma company's total revenues increased to Rs581.5 crore from Rs479.6 crore, while its net sales increased to Rs551.9 crore from Rs454.5 crore, Torrent Pharma said in a regulatory filing.

On Monday, Torrent Pharma shares declined 1.6% to Rs558 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 0.7% up at 20,303 points.

Mundra Port net profit increases to Rs211.7 crore in Sept quarter

Indian port operator Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd has registered net profit of Rs211.7 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2010 compared to Rs174.9 crore same quarter last year.

For the September 2010 quarter, total revenues increased to Rs413.5 crore from Rs337.4 crore.

On Monday, Mundra Port shares ended 3.7% down at Rs164 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 0.7% up at 20,303 points
