Shanghai Composite advanced 7%, while Nikkei rose 1% and the FTSE ended flat. NASDAQ Composite and Korean Composite fell 2% each.
Real estate companies were in demand during the fortnight. Godrej Properties and Indiabulls Real Estate advanced 15% and 9%, respectively. DLF and Brigade Enterprises rose 8% each.
Energy companies were punished. Coal India, JSW Energy, Nava Bharat Ventures, Jyoti Structures and GMDC declined 10%, 9%, 8%, 6% and 5%, respectively. NTPC and Sandur Manganese fell 3% each.
