Nikkei, S&P500 and Shanghai Composite rose 1% each, while FTSE ended flat. Bovespa fell 1%. NASDAQ Composite, however, went up by 2%.
Real estate companies were in demand during the fortnight. Unitech, BL Kashyap & Sons and Ansal Properties & Infrastructure soared 73%, 70% and 61%, respectively. DLF advanced 46% and Peninsula Land rose 38%.
Pharmaceutical companies were punished. Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Dr Datsons Labs and Neuland Laboratories tumbled 15%, 14% and 13%, respectively. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals declined 10%.
