Freight rates slip on excess position of trucks

New Delhi : Freight rates for the ten metric tonne pay load section declined by Rs1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess availability of trucks coupled with less cargo movements, reports PTI.

Transporters said heavy position of trucks and less movements of cargo mainly pulled down freight rates.

Delhi to Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Baroda freight rates dipped by Rs1,000 each to Rs11,000, Rs20,000 and Rs15,500.

Capital to Pune, Surat, Kolkatta and Chandigarh freights also fell by Rs1,000 each to Rs22,000, Rs17,000, Rs24,500 and Rs9,000.

Following are today's rates in rupees for load of per 10 tonnes: Ahmedabad 11,000 Hyderabad 31,000 Mumbai 20,000 Vijayawada 33,000 Baroda 15,500 Chennai 42,000 Pune 22,000 Bangalore 44,000 Surat 17,000 Mysore 46,000 Kanpur 11,500 Puducherry 50,000 Kolkata 24,500 Coimbatore 52,000 Ludhiana 11,000 Kochi 55,000 Chandigarh 9,000 Thiruvananthapuram 59,000 Jaipur 8,500 Goa 36,000 Indore 12,000 Gwalior 9,500 Patna 21,000 Guwahati 42,000.
