Dollar drops as risk appetite rises

A lot of the world's leading equity markets for the year 2009 hit fresh highs, encouraging investor appetite for riskier assets leading to a loss for the US currency. With the absence of fresh positive US economic data, market participants appear to be trimming some of their recent bets ahead of year-end.
