Bhaichung, Shukla, Saradha scam accused in Trinamool list
Kolkata : Within an hour after the election schedule was announced for West Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress on Friday released its list of candidates for all 294 assembly seats, re-nominating Saradha ponzi scam accused Madan Mitra.
 
Mitra, now behind bars in connection with the multi-billion rupee scandal, will contest from his old constituency Kamarhati in North 24 Parganas district, Chief Minister and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee announced.
 
Former India cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla will fight his maiden electoral battle from Howrah North.
 
Late cricket administrator Jagmohan Dalmiya's daughter Vaishali Dalmiya will contest from Bally in Howrah district while leading Bengali film actor Sohom bagged the Trinamool ticket from Barjora in Bankura district.
 
Soccer legend Bhaichung Bhutia, who lost the Lok Sabha polls two years back, will try his luck for a second time from Siliguri. Another renowned footballer, Syed Rahim Nabi, is the candidate from Pandua in Hooghly.
 
Banerjee said the party had nominated 45 women candidates, up from 31 in 2011. The number of Muslim candidates has risen from 38 five years ago to 57.

Finally, Apple comes to Twitter to support customers
New York : US technology giant Apple has launched customer support on micro-blogging website Twitter to answer your queries about its wide range of products.
 
Although Apple has Twitter accounts for specific products like Beats 1, Apple Music and iTunes, it has avoided a central presence on social media till date, The Verge reported.
 
The new @AppleSupport account, opened on Thursday, is already fielding questions about Apple Music, Apple IDs and enabling smart quotes.
 
The account received over 35,000 followers in its first few hours online.
 
It has already tweeted about subjects ranging from Safari browser help to iPhone support. The account will also tweet tips on how to use Apple products.
 
Apple launched a Twitter support account for Apple Music last year which has over eight million followers.
 
It launched an account dedicated to games on the App Store in September last year.

Portal for start-ups, registration by next week: official
New Delhi : In order to encourage entrepreneurs and further ease doing of business in India, the government said on Friday that a web portal for start-ups will launched by next week, which would also begin their registration process.
 
"In another week's time, we are going to start the start-up portal and the process of registration of start-ups also," Ramesh Abhishek, secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), said at a post-budget interaction here organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
 
"We are also working with state governments to ensure that self-certification work in case of labour and skill development laws are put in place for start-ups," he said.
 
Besides the Start-up India initiative launched last year, the DIPP has issued the definition of start-ups and is making it easier for them to file patent applications, Abhishek added.
 
The Union Budget for 2016-17, presented on Monday, proposed full tax exemption for start-ups for three years.
 
Besides, a special patent regime has been proposed with a 10 percent rate of tax on income from worldwide exploitation of patents developed and registered in India in order to promote innovations
 
The Start-Up India action plan has proposed a "Fund of Funds" to raise Rs.2,500 crore annually for four years for financing start-ups.
