Axis Bank dty managing director MM Agrawal retires

Axis Bank Ltd said MM Agrawal its deputy managing director retired from the services of the bank from 31st August.

On Wednesday, Axis Bank shares rose 1.9% to Rs1,350 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 1.3% higher at 18,205 points.

BLB FY net profit jumps 118.5% to Rs23.6 crore

Corporate stockbroker BLB Ltd said its net profit for the financial year 2010-11 stood at Rs23.6 crore, a growth of 118.5%, as compared to the net loss of Rs10.8 crore in the last fiscal.

During the FY10-11, its total revenues increased 43.4% to Rs2,510.2 crore from Rs1,750.8 crore a year ago, BLD said in a regulatory filing.

On Wednesday, BLB shares closed 1.7% up at Rs10 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 1.3% up at 18,205 points.

NTPC appoints Arup Roy Choudhury as CMD

NTPC Ltd said it appointed Arup Roy Choudhury as its chairman and managing director (CMD).

Earlier, Mr Roy was the CMD of National Buildings Construction Corp Ltd.
On Wednesday, NTPC shares closed 0.6% up at Rs196 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the benchmark Sensex ended 1.3% higher at 18,205 points.
