Adhunik Metaliks says Macquarie SBI Infra, SBI to invest Rs125 crore in its unit

Adhunik Metaliks Ltd said Macquarie SBI Infrastructure Investments and State Bank of India (SBI) will invest Rs125 crore in its unit Adhunik Power & Natural Resources (APNRL).

The funds will be used to part finance its ongoing 540 MW coal based independent power project at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. The project is likely to start power generation from January 2012.

On Monday, Adhunik Metaliks shares gained 1.8% to Rs113 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the Sensex closed 0.7% up at 18,278 points.

Britannia Industries Q1 net profit falls to Rs32.8 crore

Biscuit maker Britannia Industries Ltd said its first quarter net profit fell to Rs32.8 crore from Rs47.6 crore a year ago, despite robust revenues.

During the quarter to end-June, the biscuit maker's net sales increased to Rs912.8 crore from Rs731.2 crore in the same quarter last year.

On Monday, Britannia Industries shares fell 6.6% to Rs2,120 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the Sensex closed 0.7% up at 18,278 points.
